Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and the operator of Voddit (“Voddit”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the site, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Voddit.

1. Who can use Voddit

You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough in your state to agree to these terms. If you're under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission.

2. One human, one account

Accounts are for individual people. When you sign up, you confirm: “I am a human and this will be my only account.” That means:

• Don't create or run more than one account.
• Don't let bots, scripts, AI agents or other automated tools create accounts, vote or post.
• Don't buy, sell, trade or share accounts or votes.

As our sign-up page puts it: “If I am a robot and I use this platform I am committing a crime on behalf of the human who ordered me and violating Asimov's 1st Law against the rest of humanity”. We may suspend any account we believe breaks this rule.

3. Your account

You're responsible for what happens on your account and for keeping your password safe. We don't collect email addresses, so we can't recover a lost password.

4. Posting and voting

Posting unlocks after you upvote 5 ideas. Vote honestly. Don't coordinate fake votes, use other accounts to vote, or try to manipulate rankings.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of the ideas, text, links and photos you post (“your content”). By posting, you give Voddit a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, reproduce, adapt (for example, resizing photos) and distribute your content to run and promote the service. This license ends when you delete your content, except for copies kept in backups for a limited time or where we must keep them by law.

You're solely responsible for your content. When you add a link or photos, you certify that they contain nothing illegal and that you have the right to share them. You promise your content follows the Content Policy and doesn't infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights.

6. Removing content and suspending accounts

We may remove any content, or suspend or end any account, at any time and for any reason, including breaking these terms or the Content Policy. We may report illegal content, including child sexual abuse material, to law enforcement and to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, and preserve it as the law requires.

7. Copyright complaints

We respect intellectual property rights and respond to notices of alleged infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). To file a notice, email help@voddit.com. Include: your contact details; the copyrighted work; the link to the content on Voddit; a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use isn't authorized; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you're the owner or authorized to act for the owner; and your physical or electronic signature. We end the accounts of repeat infringers.

8. Links to other sites

Ideas can link to other websites. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content, policies or practices.

9. Disclaimers

VODDIT IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. Ideas on Voddit are the opinions of the people who post them, not ours. We don't promise that the site will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free, or that any idea will be acted on by anyone.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, VODDIT AND ITS OPERATORS WON'T BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SITE OR ANY CONTENT ON IT. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM IS LIMITED TO $100.

11. Indemnity

If someone makes a claim against us because of your content or your breaking these terms, you agree to cover our reasonable costs, including legal fees, to the extent the law allows.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we'll post a notice on the site. If you keep using Voddit after a change, you accept the new terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state where Voddit's operator is based, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
