Privacy
Last updated November 2, 2026
We collect as little as we can. There are no ads, no tracking cookies and no third-party analytics.
What we collect
- Your account: your username, a securely hashed version of your password (we never see the password itself), when you joined, and when you agreed that you're a human with only one account.
- What you post: ideas, links and photos. These are public.
- Your votes and reports. These are private. Others only see an idea's totals.
- Abuse prevention: to limit sign-ups, failed log-ins and spam, we keep a one-way, keyed hash of your IP address for up to two days. The hosting provider's servers may also keep standard access logs.
We don't ask for your email, real name, phone number or location.
Photos
Every photo is re-saved when you upload it. That removes EXIF data such as GPS location, the time it was taken and your camera or phone model.
Cookies
We use two cookies, both needed for the site to work: one keeps you logged in, and one protects forms against cross-site request forgery.
Sharing
We don't sell or rent your information. We share it only when the law requires it, to protect people from harm, or to report illegal content to the authorities.
Your choices
You can delete any of your ideas at any time. You can delete your account in Account settings, which permanently deletes your ideas, photos, votes and reports. Copies may stay in backups for a limited time.
Children
Voddit isn't for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
